The Observation Program here at CFTH allows individuals and couples to learn more about our model of Biblical counselling, and to experience and multiply the ministry by caring for the hearts of people that God brings into your pathway. In order to fully understand the counselling process, all observers should become familiar with the contents of the Caring for the Heart resource materials available. Our observer update is linked below, and outlines the requirements and expectations for everyone who takes part in this program. Please take the time to go over this update before applying.
At our offices in Wingham, Ontario, we now have room for several observers to view the counselling process via closed circuit camera, however, all of our observers must meet and agree to the requirements and expectations for everyone who takes part in this program. If you are interested in pursuing the observation program via CFTH, you may access the Observation Program requirements and application below, and we will contact you once we have received it.
The In Depth Training Seminar is designed to give you, as a pastor, counselor, Christian worker, or lay person the ability to connect with and help people in distress. You will be given tools to begin applying Biblical principles to help the people you are working with. CFTH staff will teach you to help people find freedom in three main areas: emotional problems, spiritual problems andspiritual strongholds. Our approach to counselling involves a dependence upon the Holy Spirit to lead us (counselors) to assist the counselee to resolve each of their personal problems. We trust the Holy Spirit to direct, convict and enable the counsellee in this process. We do not judge a person for where they have been, but seek to follow the direction of the Lord to resolve and lead individuals to freedom. (Galatians 5:1 John 10:10) Our Goal is to assist each person to realize and understand God's design and purpose in their lives and find fulfillment in being the person God designed for them to be - spiritually free from anything that would hinder them from a right relationship with God and others. We meet together Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.. We walk through specific areas of spiritual and emotional issues where people struggle and learn how to bring someone to freedom in each area. If possible, we like to incorporate live counselling which gives the opportunity to observe a real life counselling situation. You will also receive a workbook with notes that includes all the information you will be learning. Our desire is that those who undertake the In-Depth training would be better equipped to guide others in recognizing and resolving spiritual and emotional issues, so that "...their hearts may be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. We want them to have complete confidence that they understand Gods mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
